LITTLE STARS OF PAPPS VISIT THEIR NEW & BIGGER LEARNING SHALA - GEN BC JOSHI APS

Change is constant for an adult, but for a child of a lower age group it can be difficult and daunting. Hence, establishing regular and effective inter-class interactions are extremely important as it ensures seamless transition from one level of education to another. In order to execute the similar smooth transitions from small to BIG, the toddlers of PAPPS (Panchshul Army Pre-Primary School) were received as guest visitors to the Primary Wing at Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh - their new learning ground, on 23 Feb, 2024. The young aspirants along with visiting Classrooms, also felt excited while seeing the Resource Room, Music Room, Computer Lab, Sports Room, Playgrounds etc. The tiny learners were really happy and all smiling on getting familiarised with the positive learning environment at their New & Bigger School and the school was enchanted with their giggles. As a token of love and care some presents were also distributed to these students.

BIDDING ADIEU TO CLASS XII

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. On February 17, 2024, Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh bid a heartfelt farewell to its class XII students in a memorable ceremony filled with emotion and camaraderie. The event was highlighted by captivating performances from the class XI students, including dances, melodramas, and group songs, which added a vibrant touch to the proceedings. As the senior students shared their cherished memories and experiences from their time at the school, there was a palpable sense of nostalgia and gratitude permeating the atmosphere, underscoring the deep bonds forged within the school. Principal Mr. Vinod K Bhama, along with the staff members, extended their best wishes to the departing students, acknowledging their hard work and achievements.

INDIAN NAVY DAY CELEBRATION

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. Gen BC Joshi APS in Pithoragarh marked Navy Day with a special assembly organized by class V students to honour the bravery and valour of the Indian Navy, particularly commemorating the success of Operation Trident during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The students performed a skit on Operation Trident, showcasing their talent and captivating the audience.

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh organized the Language Fest 2023 from November 20 to 22, targeting students in classes I to V. The primary objective of the event was to foster an appreciation for different languages. Participants were assessed on various criteria, including costume, confidence, dialogue delivery, pronunciation, and presentation. This comprehensive judging approach aimed at evaluating not just language proficiency but also communication and presentation skills.

Children's Day Celebration

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. Gen BC Joshi Army Public School in Pithoragarh celebrated Children's Day with great enthusiasm by organizing a Children Fair on November 14, 2023. The event aimed to provide a joyous and memorable experience for the students. The Children Fair was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Col Vikram Singh, CO 2/11 GR. His presence added a special significance to the occasion. A special assembly was conducted by the teachers, creating a festive and celebratory atmosphere. This assembly likely included activities like thought, speech, poem etc that highlighted the importance of Children's Day and Childhood. The fair featured various food and gaming stalls, providing students with a diverse range of activities to enjoy. The Children Fair turned out to be a gala day for the students, offering them a chance to engage in fun and recreational activities.

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. Gen BC Joshi Army Public School hosted a vibrant Diwali celebration for its boarder students, combining traditional rituals with modern festivities. The event included cracker bursting, worship of Goddess Lakshmi, High-Tea, Prasad distribution, and a special dinner for the students. The School Chairman, Brig SPS Chouhan, and other esteemed dignitaries graced the event with their presence. They extended warm wishes to the students and offered words of encouragement for their future. The students expressed their delight in participating in the festivities, highlighting the evening as a wonderful and memorable experience. The integration of traditional rituals with contemporary elements not only fostered a sense of cultural celebration but also provided a platform for students to bond and create lasting memories.

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated the 24th Uttarakhand Foundation Day with fervor and enthusiasm. A special assembly was organised, where the students of V std portrayed the significance of 'Uttarakhand Rajya Andolan', highlighting the struggle for the statehood. Dressed in traditional Kumauni costumes, the students also presented a captivating Kumauni dance. The assembly was concluded on a promising note with the rendition of the National Anthem.

ANNUAL DAY (SPORTS) CELEBRATION AND ALUMNI MEET 2023

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh marked its 28th Annual Day (Sports) and hosted the Alumni Meet on October 16, 2023. The event commenced with a warm welcome of the Chief Guest Mrs. Tulika Chouhan, Sr Dir, FWO Panchshul. The Chief Guest alongwith other dignitaries visited the exhibition laid by school clubs. The principal, Mr. Vinod K Bhama welcomed the dignitaries and presented the annual report, highlighting the school's achievements. The day featured a March Past by all four houses, followed by the Sports Mimetics by the tiny-tots of I & II Stds. Athletics Events, and captivating Folk Dances by student represented the diversity of India. The alumni shared their experiences and cherished old memories of the school days. A friendly Tug of War between alumni and Class XII students added a fun, competitive element, with the alumni emerging as victorious, symbolizing their enduring school spirit. Meritorious students, winners in Athletic Events and teachers for their remarkable contribution were also felicitated by the School Management. Cariappa House received the prestigious Cock-House Trophy for excelling in Inter-House activities. The day was a memorable blend of recognition of the academic achievements, cultural diversity, and a strong connection between school and its alumni, reinforcing the school's commitment to holistic education and personal development. The event valedicted with singing of the National Anthem, followed by distribution of sweets to all children.

INTER-HOUSE FOLK-DANCE COMPETITION 2023

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School conducted an electrifying Inter-House Folk Dance Competition on October 6, 2023. The event was divided into two categories, Junior and Senior, with students from class VI to XII enthusiastically participating. The Junior category commenced with great fervor as the young talents from Four Houses (Bhagat, Cariappa, Manekshaw & Thimayya) displayed their enthusiasm for folk dance. Each house presented a unique and mesmerizing performance that highlighted the diverse cultural heritage of India. The Senior category witnessed a high level of competition, with each house trying to outshine the other. The students displayed their dedication and hard work, paying homage to the rich folk traditions of India. The OIC Schools, Col KS Bisht appreciated the efforts made by the students and teachers. He congratulated the students for their dedication, talents and participation.

Swachchata Hi Sewa Campaign at Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh

The school organized a cleanliness awareness campaign, involving students, parents and staff to evoke awareness among masses for keeping their surroundings neat & clean under the “Swachchhata Hi Seva”pgme. The students displayed hoardings and placards with slogans on keeping our country clean and also performed a street-play (Nukkad Natak) giving the message to the passers-by. After the event, the students, parents, teachers and all the staff members of APS, conducted a cleanliness campaign in the public places outside the school and also cleaned the littered garbage on the roadsides. NCC cadet of the school also participated enthusiastically in this program. Under the program, “Swachhta hi Seva” Abhiyan, a poster making competition was organized for the students in conference room where students displayed their artistic skills by making posters on keeping India neat & clean. Mr.Vinod K Bhama, Principal, motivated everyone and encouraged the students by personnel example on cleanliness. He told that our school was selected among 1500 schools across the country for public awareness program under the “Swachhta hi Seva” campaign by the Ministry of Education and CBSE, which is a matter of pride for us. The campaign was flagged of at 0930 and was valedicted at 1130h.

Shri Krishna Janamashtami Celebration

The premises of Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh came alive with vibrant colours and enthusiasm as the school celebrated Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna, with great fervour. The highlight of the event was a captivating skit performed by the talented primary class students. The primary students, dressed in colourful costumes, took the stage with immense confidence and enthusiasm. Their skit transported the audience back to the ancient town of Mathura, where the mischievous young Krishna, fondly known as "Makhan Chor," embarked on his adventures. On this occasion Principal Mr. Vinod K Bhama also addressed the students and enlightened them with the some of the vast and beautiful aspects of Lord Krishna. The students also participated in the Matki and Flute Decoration programme. The school's dedication to preserving and sharing Indian traditions and values was evident throughout the event.

On September 6th, Gen BC Joshi Army Public School embraced the spirit of Milk Food Day with an exciting and informative celebration. The young learners brought a range of delectable dishes crafted from milk products, promoting both health and culinary skills. The festivities also extended to an unforgettable visit by the Tiny-Tots to the Principal's Office. Here, they not only shared the milk-based treats they had created but also enjoyed quality bonding time, creating lasting memories and strengthening the sense of community within the school.

TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS

Teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions. A day is kept aside to remember all the teachers. This day is celebrated in commemoration of Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education and was the well-known diplomat, scholar and above all a teacher. To carry forward this tradition, Gen B C Joshi APS , Pithoragarh celebrated this occasion on 05 September 2023 with much vigor and enthusiasm.  The morning assembly was conducted by the students of class XII in which the student representatives presented tokens of appreciation to their teachers as a humble gesture of gratitude followed by the cultural programmes of students of class XII and V. The cultural program was fused with drama, song and dance. The Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama addressed the entire school, urged students to maintain the bequest of respecting teachers and lauded the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal success. The Principal appreciated the sincerest efforts of the teachers playing a catalytic role in the holistic development of every student. After completion of the celebration in the school, the faculty had a picnic in the AEPTA Golf Course, Pithoragarh. All the teachers enjoyed the picnic to the core. The school management presented the teachers with tokens of appreciation for their dedication and hardwork. The celebration concluded with a special lunch for the teachers, organized by the school management. The teachers were treated to a sumptuous feast, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

PRINCIPAL'S STORY NARRATING TO PRIMARY STUDENTS

The Principal Mr Vinod K Bhama narrated stories to Primary students and enlightened them on the origin of the festival of Rakshabandhan and the importance of cultural values & traditions. He spoke on the beauty of the bond between brother and sister and the importance of celebrating Rakshabandhan. The principal's interactions with primary kids always have a positive impact on the school culture, student motivation, and academic performance. Continued efforts in this regard will contribute to a nurturing and supportive learning environment that benefits both primary students and the overall school performance.

77TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The 77th Independence Day was celebrated with all pomp & show by the young students of Gen BC Joshi APS today. The celebration began with the solemn and proud moment of hoisting the national flag by the Chief Guest- Brig SPS Chouhan, Chairman of the school. The flow of Unity with Diversity as a symbol of patriotic spirit could be sensed through the colourful cultural performances given by the students of different grades. The program included Traditional Dances, Patriotic Songs by four Houses, Fancy-Dress Show depicting our great freedom fighters and the Symphonic Rhapsody as an amalgam of love for the motherland. The Chief Guest, in his address, motivated & inspired the students to enhance their performance not only in academics but in every field of life. He further appreciated the performances of Children & efforts made by the staff. The program was valedicted with Vote of Thanks, followed by distribution of sweets & refreshments to all.

MINI MARATHON 2023

On 12 Aug 2023, the students and teachers of Gen B.C. Joshi Army Public School participated in Mini Marathon organized by 119 (I), Inf Bde Gp (PANCHSHUL BDE). More than 253 students and 10 teachers of the school participated in the event and showcased their athletic talents. Shaukat Basir of class 10-D, Rahul Chand of class 12-D & Shoaib Ahmad Butt of class 9-C secured the first, second and third position respectively in Sr Category. Sumit Singh of class 5-D, Gaurav Singh of class 8-D & Tanmay Singh Bhakuni of class 5-D secured the first, second and third position respectively in Jr Category. Shaurya Chaudhary class 2-C was awarded consolation prize. OIC School-Col. K. S. Bisht and Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama appreciated the winners and congratulated all the participants. After the Mini Marathon all the students and teachers witnessed the cultural events and fair organised by 119 (I), Inf Bde Gp (PANCHSHUL BDE).

The event was held in four categories: Senior Boys (Class IX-XII), Junior Boys (Class VI-VIII), Junior Girls (Class VI-VIII) and Senior girls (Class IX-XII). Winners are as under. Inter-House Extempore Competition 2023

The Inter-House Extempore Competition, conducted on 02 Aug 2023, at Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh, was a captivating and intellectually stimulating event that showcased the talents of participants from four houses in the art of impromptu speaking. The competition was held in two categories: Junior and Senior. Organized by the Department of English, the competition provided a platform for participants to demonstrate their ability to think on their feet, articulate their thoughts effectively, and present well-structured arguments on a variety of topics. In senior category Pratiksha Upadhyay from Thimayya House secured the first position and in Junior category Nishika from Cariappa House secured the first position. Overall results: Cariappa House- I position; Thimayya House- II position; Bhagat House-III Position; Manekshaw House- IV position.

PAGES & PASSIONS: A BOOK FAIR EXTRAVAGANZA

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh hosted Book Fair on 31 July- 01 Aug 2023 in the Indoor Sports Complex for students, parents and teachers. The event was aimed to promote a love for reading among students and encourage them to explore a diverse selection of books from various genres. The Book Fair provided a vibrant and engaging environment for book lovers, attracting students from all grade levels, parents and teachers.

Celebration of Kargil Vijay Divas

On July 26, Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh commemorated the 24th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Divas to honour the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War. The school organized a special event to instill a sense of patriotism and gratitude among the students and pay tribute to the valiant soldiers who fought to protect our nation. The students of class XII D and tiny tots of Primary Wing presented a skit where they demonstrated the scenario of Kargil War and how our Indian Armed Forces fought with valour and bravery. The heart stirring performance by the students inspired the audience and kindle the spirit of patriotism. On the same occasion a Gallantry Award Winner, Lt Col Kartikeya Manral, SM was invited as the guest speaker to share his experiences and insights about the Kargil War and also about the significant role of decorated Indian Army in protecting the Nation. The speaker narrated stories of valour, sacrifice, and determination, inspiring the students to be brave, responsible citizens and appreciate the freedom they enjoy today due to the sacrifices of the soldiers. The performance of the students was highly appreciated by OIC Schools, Col KS Bisht and the Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama. In his address, Col KS Bisht shared the qualities of army personnel that distinguish them from other people. It was an inspiring and overwhelming day for the audience to have witnessed the skits by class XII D & P Wing and motivational speech by the Gallantry Award Winner.

Celebrating the Wisdom and Love of Grandparents

On the beautiful occasion of Grandparents' Day, our school organized a heartwarming celebration to honour and appreciate the wisdom, love, and invaluable contributions of grandparents in our lives. The school organised a special assembly where the tiny tots of primary wing presented Monologue and played the roles of grandparents. In his address the Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama enlightened the students and shared that the wisdom, love, and experiences of grandparents are an integral part of our lives, and they deserve to be celebrated. The people with grey hair, matured and schooled by the Life are the real treasure and the path shown by them must be followed with utmost integrity. The performance of these tiny tots was inspiring and the participants and the teachers involved in preparing the students were appreciated by the Principal.

HARELA AND SPROUTS DAY CELEBRATION

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh celebrated HARELA, a festival of Uttarakhand dedicated to nurture Mother Nature and to pray for the wellbeing of humankind. On this occasion special assemblies were conducted where the students of Class XI A and the tiny tots of class III to V presented their skits. The skits on Harela highlighted individual/collective contributions, the power of cultural education and creative engagement in promoting environmental consciousness. The exemplary and breathtaking performances of students left everyone in awe and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the skits. Our tiny tots also celebrated the Sprouts Day with full inquisitiveness & enthusiasm. Children demonstrated the steps involved in sprouts germination and narrated the health benefits of sprouts which include improved digestion, better blood circulation, maintained body weight etc. The OIC Schools, Col. KS Bisht and The Principal, Mr. Vinod K Bhama highly appreciated the efforts of students and applauded them for their stupendous performances.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION PRIMARY WING

A Poster Making Competition was organised for the students of Primary Wing on Wednesday 19 July 2023 as part of our ongoing efforts to encourage creativity and artistic expression among our young students. The competition was conducted in two Groups viz Group A (Class I, II and III) with the theme Save Earth, Save Environment and Group B (Class IV and V) with the theme Healthy Lifestyle. The competition was aimed to provide a platform for our primary school students to showcase their artistic talents and raise awareness about the importance of creativity in education and also make them aware about the real-world issues. A total of 200 students enthusiastically participated in the competition and showcased their artistic skills and creativity.

INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL COMPETITION-2023

The Inter-House Basketball Competition was held from 04-08 July, 2023 among all four houses, viz. Bhagat House, Cariappa House, Manekshaw House and Thimayya House in Sr Boys, Jr Boys and Girls (Open) Categories. Manekshaw stood to be winners in Sr Boys Category, Thimayya in Jr Boys whereas Bhagat House Girls bagged the winners position defeating Cariappa House Girls. The event promoted sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. The Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama congratulated the winners and appreciated the dedication and hard work displayed by all participants.

9th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA CELEBRATION

9th International Yoga Day was celebrated in the school from 6:00 am to 8:00 am on 21st June 2023. The Yoga Session was conducted by the Principal, Mr Vinod Bhama. Students and teachers participated and practised the yogasanas during this 2-hr yoga session today. The participants performed and experienced various asanas and the pranayamas, viz conditioning/meditation; Sukshyam Vyayamas; Tadasan I & II; Gaumukhasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana; Setubandhaasana; Dhanurasana; Suptavakrasana; Trikonasana; Pawanmuktaasana, Vajrasana; Makarasan; Gaumukhasana; Balasan; Bhujangasana; Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom; Bhramari Pranayam etc. The Principal enlightened the participants with benefits of yoga asanas in daily life. The yoga session was cherishable and motivational to awaken our future generation to know and adopt the ancient Indian Culture of practicing yoga and stay healthy & happy. The Session ended with OM Chanting and Vedic Mantras. Refreshments were also served to the participants. Ultimately it was a serene beginning of a gala day while practising Yoga with the Principal.

PTM cum Orientation Programme

The Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) cum Orientation Programme was held at Gen BC Joshi Army Public School on 10 June 2023. The purpose of the programme was to provide parents/guardians with an opportunity to meet and discuss their child's academic progress, behaviour, and any concerns with the respective teachers and School Management. Keeping the various aspects of the students' education and well-being in view, The Principal Mr Vinod K Bhama took an interactive session with the parents, expressed his gratitude to parents for trusting the Schools’ Vision and modus operandi. Winners of Interschool Quiz and Debate Competition

The Quiz Team of Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh comprising Master Sujal Chand (XI D) and Narendra Singh (XI D) participated in Interschool Quiz Competition and secured I position. The English Debate Team comprising Miss Priyanshi (XI D) and Miss Prachi Joshi (XI D) participated in Interschool Debate Competition and secured II positions. Miss Priyanshi also won the ‘BEST SPEAKER for the Motion Award’. These Events were conducted by 13O INF (BN) ECO KUMAON on the occasion of WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY. The School Management and staff congratulated the winners.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION 2023

The Environment Day Celebration was organized to commemorate World Environment Day, an annual global initiative established by the United Nations to raise awareness and promote action for environmental protection. On This occasion a especial assembly was organised at the school by the students of Class XID where the students were sensitized about the emerging environmental threats. A Plantation Drive was also organised at the School Premises for promoting the Environmental Conservation, Education and Awareness. Students of Gen BC Joshi Army Public School also participated in the Interschool Debate and Quiz Competition organised by the TA Battalion.

World Telecommunication Day Celebration- Special Assembly by Class XII B.

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh Celebrated the World Telecommunication Day. A special assembly was conducted by the students of class XII B in which they depicted how the inventions in the field of Information and Telecommunication Technologies have changed the life of people. World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is an international day proclaimed in November 2006 by the International Telecommunication Union Plenipotentiary Conference in Antalya, Turkey, to be celebrated annually on 17 May.

EXCURSION OF CLASS III: VISIT TO HEAD POST OFFICE PITHORAGARH

On 24th May 23, the students of Class 3rd got the opportunity to visit the Head Post Office of district Pithoragarh as an educational field trip. The purpose of the visit was to enhance their understanding of different postal services provided by the government of India such as Sending parcel/letters etc, Speed post services, Saving account, PO ATM cards, UPI services by PO, Generating or corrections of AADHAR card etc. The visit to HPO proved to be an enriching experience for the students. It enhanced their understanding of postal services.

EXCURSION OF CLASS V: VISIT TO ECOLOGICAL TASK FORCE BATTALION

On 23-05-2023 our 141 students of class 5th went on an educational excursion to the nursery of ECOLOGICAL TASK FORCE BATTALION ', which is reputedly known for carrying out afforestation in degraded areas of Uttarakhand. Students were under the safe supervision of wing coordinator and teachers. The students were thrilled to have an opportunity to explore variety of plants, ways to grow them and different uses of each part of different plants. Students have also learnt about vermicomposting. It was a very informative, joyful and enriching day for the students.

EXCURSION OF CLASS IV: VISIT TO SBI PITHORAGARH (MAIN BRANCH)

On 22 May 23, the students of Class 4th from Gen B C Joshi had the opportunity to visit SBI main branch Pithoragarh as part of their educational field trip. The purpose of the visit was to enhance their understanding of Banking Services, Money Management, and Financial Literacy. The visit to SBI main branch Pithoragarh proved to be an educational and enriching experience for the students. It enhanced their understanding of banking operations.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY: 2023

The Investiture Ceremony of Gen B C Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh was held on 22 May 2023 to appoint the members of Students’ Council. Col K S Bisht, OIC Schools, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony, that commenced with reciting the School-Prayer, followed by March-Past by Students’ Council & all the four houses, Piping & Oath Taking Ceremonies. The school appointees were felicitated with sashes and epaulettes. The student-leaders were decorated with the ranks of School Captains & Vice Captains, House Captains and House Prefects, in both boys and girls categories at Sr, Jr and the Pry levels. OIC Schools-Col KS Bisht in his address, talked about the importance of holding ranks & responsibilities. He also enlightened the audience that Loyalty, Honesty and Integrity should never be compromised with. The School Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama, congratulated the newly appointed school students’ cabinet and thanked all the staff involved in making this event a success. The ceremony valedicted with National Anthem and group photographs. It was indeed a gala event.

INTERNATION NURSES DAY CELEBRATION: SPECIAL ASSEMBLY BY XII C

Nurses are the foundation of healthcare. They play a vital role in providing care, comfort and compassion for their patients and patients’ families and to mark the contribution that the nurses make to society, The Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Celebrated the International Nurses’ Day. The school organised an especial assembly where the students of Class XII C presented a skit, depicting the selfless and untiring services they provide. The captivating and inspiring performance of Class XII students persuaded the audience that the nurses are no less important than the doctors and their services are unconditional. International Nurses Day is an international day observed around the world on 12 May each year. The theme for International Nurses Day (IND) 2023 is Our Nurses. Our Future.

EXCURSION FOR CLASS-II STUDENTS

The day 19 May 23 was a euphoric day for class II children of Gen BC Joshi Army Public School, as they went to explore the outside world by reconnecting with the inner child. 93 students of class II were taken for an excursion tour to Golf-Course located near Wadda, Pithoragarh. The tiny-tots enjoyed their day by playing the games such as Piddu, Hopscotch, Poshampa , Play Dance Freeze, Frisbee, Cricket, Skipping, Doll house etc in the beautiful surroundings of the Golf Course. It was a wonderful experience for the students and they also learnt the values such 'Sharing and Caring', Team-Work, Friendship, Care for Nature etc. The day ended with KODAK MOMENTS.

EXCURSION FOR CLASS-I STUDENTS

In order to develop important life-skills the school organised an excursion tour for primary students. In this sequence, 54 students of class- I along with two escort-teachers visited WAR MEMORIAL which was earlier known as MAHARAJ KE PARK or MAHARAJA PARK on 18 MAY 2023. The park is beautiful with tall majestic trees and beautiful surroundings. There is a beautiful memorial and statues of brave Kumaon regiment soldiers. Names of martyrs of different battles and names of Ashoka Chakra, Veer Chakra and Kirti Chakra are engraved here on the memorial. A soldier from care taking unit motivated students and inspired them to join army. The students enjoyed a lot in the lap of nature. They made beautiful drawings and noted down the quotes written over there. The happiness of the students was on peak when they explored children's park.

INTER-HOUSE VOLLEYBALL COMPETETION 2023

The Interhouse Volleyball competition was held from 13.05.2023 to 17.05.2023. The competition was conducted in three categories viz. Sr Boys, Jr Boys and Girls. Manekshaw House holds the first position in Girls Category whereas the Bhagat House grabs the first position in both the Sr and Jr boys categories.
Overall Results: Bhagat House- I Position, Manekshaw House- II Position, Thimayya House -III Position and Cariappa House- IV Position.

GEN BC JOSHI ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES THE MOTHER’S DAY

The day that recognizes the essence of a mother was celebrated in high spirits and merriment. The children irrespective of nationalities, castes, cultures and genders have emotions binding them to their mothers. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh organised various programs for the special celebration on Mother’s Day. A “Card-Making Competition” was held for the students of Primary Wing. They passionately got involved in making beautiful greeting cards for their mothers. “Kavi-Sammelan”, where students recited their self-composed poems, was also organised for the tiny-tots. The students of Sr Wing presented a skit depicting the sacrifices a mother does for her kids. Mother’s Day Celebration reminded the students of their responsibilities towards mothers, thus imbibing values of compassion and respect. The OIC-Schools Col Karam Singh Bisht inspired the children to inculcate virtuous deeds and resort to ethical ways that make the parents happy and contented. The School Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama, in his speech expressed the value of emotions and enlightened the students about the glory of Mother by narrating stories from the glorious past of India. He expressed how Sweet the word “Maa” itself is. The celebration was enjoyable and memorable for each and every child leaving an indubitable mark on the innocent hearts.

INTER-HOUSE X-COUNTRY RACE-2023

Gen B C Joshi APS, Pithoragarh organized an Inter-House X-Country Competition for classes VI to XII on Saturday, 06 May, 2023. The race was flagged off by Mr Vinod K Bhama, the Principal. Students from all four houses: Bhagat, Cariappa, Manekshaw and Thimayya participated in four categories (Sr Boys & Girls, Jr Boys & Girls). The zestful and dynamic participants were applauded and the winners were given away with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. The event was valedicted with motivational speech by the Principal that elucidated the real spirit of sportsmanship, followed by the National Anthem. Refreshments were distributed among all participants and the staff. Results: Bhagat and Cariappa Houses : I-Position; Manekshaw House: III Position; and Thimayya House got IV-Position.

Inter-House English Debate Competition 2023

On April 29, 2023, Gen B C Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh organized an Inter-House English Debate Competition for students from classes VI to XII. The event was hosted by the Department of English and was aimed to improve public speaking skills and teach effective expression of thoughts and opinions. The competition covered topics such as “THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CCTV CAMERAS IN PUBLIC PLACES” and “THE ROLE OF INDIAN MEDIA”. The competition was marked by diverse perspectives and impressive oratory skills. The English Department teachers judged the competition, and the winners were announced by Mr. Sanjeev Masih, HOD of the English Department. Col Karam Singh Bisht, OIC schools, shared valuable tips on public speaking.
Results: Bhagat House and Cariappa House secured the first position whereas Thimayya House and Manekshaw House secured the second position.

Earth Day Celebration

On the occasion of the Earth Day, the school organised a special assembly which was conducted by the students of classes V and IX D. Students of IX D presented the Speech, Facts and Poem on Earth Day. Whereas the students of Class V performed a melodrama in which humans’ ignorance and cruelty on the Mother Earth was demonstrated. The School Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama, also addressed the students and threw light on tiny but remarkable steps to be taken to sustain Earth as a beautiful place to live for the future generations too. The students also took pledge to do their bit in preserving the Mother Earth. The theme for Earth Day 2023 is "Invest In Our Planet".

It was a happy-clappy day for the tiny-tots of Class-I when they stepped in to Gen BC Joshi APS for their onward journey of formal school education, today. A hearty warm welcome full of happiness & smiles all around left an imperishable impression on the tender minds as the first sign of their cheerful educational odyssey. The little champs were received at the school gates and taken to their classes with utmost love and care. Fluttering Butterflies: A Breathtaking Cultural Amalgam by Jr Joshians

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh, organised a resplendent cultural fest "Fluttering Butterflies" on Saturday, March 25, 2023, showcasing the astounding talent and imagination of its primary students. The venue was transformed into a kaleidoscopic realm of wonder, a feast for the senses that attracted an enthusiastic audience of parents, students, faculty members, and the distinguished guests. The festivities commenced with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Mrs. Rupali Shinde, Sr Director Panchshul, FWO, and Guest of Honour Col Yusuf Saify, Dy Cdr, accompanied by other dignitaries with most famous dance form of Kumaun - The Choliya Dance. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp signalled the triumph of enlightenment over darkness and ignorance. The programme started with Maa Saraswati Vandana, followed by instrumental music performance by school orchestra. A total of 587 students fm classes I to V participated in the function and gave mesmerizing performances on various themes, viz. Various Professions, Medley Dance, Yoga Meditative Dance, Gummy Bear, Taekwondo etc. The Chief Guest applauded the schools’ efforts in promoting co-curricular activities as one the important tools for holistic development of students. The Principal, Mr. Vinod K Bhama, commended the tiny-tots for their spectacular performances and thanked the teachers, parents, and esteemed guests for their support in making the cultural fest a resounding success. The programme valedicted with a Vote of Thanks by Mr Sanjeev Masih - Veteran Teacher, fusion by all participants and the National Anthem. All students and their parents were given away the boxes of sweets and refreshment. It was a gala day leading to a happy-clappy weekend for all concerned.

Holi Celebration at Gen BC Joshi Army Public School

The most colourful and vibrant festival of India 'Holi' was celebrated, with splash of colours, by the staff at Gen BC Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh, on 06 March, 2023. The central Lobby and Soccer ground of the school was an amalgamation of enthused staff members, students and the Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama. The self-made herbal colours were sprinkled on each other and wished for goodness in the hearts & minds of all. Staff members and students enjoyed the fervor of the festival celebration alongwith enjoying high-tea with traditional sweets of the festival. A week before the Holi Celebration the tiny tots of Primary Wing were also engaged in Herbal Colour Making Activity where students learnt to make herbal colours. Mr Vinod K Bhama, Principal also encouraged these tiny tots to be responsible human beings.

LITTLE STARS OF PAPPS VISIT THEIR NEW & BIGGER LEARNING SHALA - GEN BC JOSHI APS

Change is constant for an adult, but for a child of a lower age group it can be difficult and daunting. Hence, establishing regular and effective inter-class interactions are extremely important as it ensures seamless transition from one level of education to another. In order to execute the similar smooth transitions from small to BIG, the toddlers of PAPPS (Panchshul Army Pre-Primary School) were received as guest visitors to the Primary Wing at Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh - their new learning ground, on 01 March, 2023. The Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama himself received these charming guests. The young aspirants along with visiting Classrooms, also felt excited while seeing the Resource Room, Music Room, Computer Lab, Sports Room, Playgrounds etc. The tiny learners were really happy and all smiling on getting familiarised with the positive learning environment at their New & Bigger School and the school was enchanted with their giggles. As a token of love and care some presents were also distributed to these students.

The felicitation programme was organised by Devbhoomi Sahodaya School Complex Haldwani, on 04 Feb 2023, in Haldwani (Nainital). The Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama conducted an in-house workshop on 'Achieving High Results' for the educators. In this erudite and brainstorming session, Mr Vinod K Bhama explained the importance of
1. Understanding the learners: their needs, expectations and problems.
2. Creating a conducive and inclusive environment in the classrooms.
3. Having a healthy bond between teachers and students.
Dos and Don'ts before and during the Examination were also discussed. Every member in the house enthusiastically participated in the session and many learner-oriented issues were also deliberated upon.

WREATH-LAYING IN COMMEMORATION OF LATE GEN BC JOSHI-FOUNDER

Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh paid homage to the its Founder Late Gen BC Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, the then COAS, on 19 Nov 2022. A wreath-laying ceremony was organized at the bust of Gen BC Joshi in central lobby of the school. In remembrance of the great soul, the Principal, staff and students paid homage by offering wreath and flower petals. Late Gen Bipin Chandra Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, COAS, (05 Dec. 1935-19 Nov, 1994) was the 17th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army. Gen BC Joshi was born in village Danya, Distt.- Almora (Uttarakhand).

CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION

Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated Children’s Day on 14th Nov 2022, with great fun and frolic. The pgme commenced with welcoming the Chief Guest, Mr. Vinod K Bhama - Principal, where he presented a bouquet to the tiny-tots as a mark of love & affection for children. A Special Assembly was conducted by the teachers, followed by various performances, including skit on importance of school life, and medley & lazy dance to delight, entertain and regale the students. At last the Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama, appreciated the teachers for their performances for students. The celebrations came to an end with the distribution of cupcakes as a small token of love and affection by the school mgmt.

UTTARAKHAND FOUNDATION DAY

23rd Uttrakhand Foundation Day was celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. To mark the event a special assembly was conducted by the students of class 7C and 5C. The assembly commenced with the morning prayer to rejuvenate the spirits of the students. To throw more light on the history of Uttrakhand a speech was delivered by Rishita Rawat of 7C followed by a quiz on Uttrakhand. A beautiful skit was also performed by the students of 5C showing the struggle for a separate state from Uttar Pradesh, leaders of this struggle and colours of Uttrakhand. A very serene depiction of village life of Uttrakhand was shown which not only displayed the roots but also showed why we call it ‘devbhoomi’. The tiny-tots, in their Kumauni Costume, also presented a Kumauni Song. The Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama addressed the students by first congratulating them for the occasion. He later spoke about various famous personalities who belong to Uttrakhand and have served the nation with all their might. Having pride at being an ‘Uttrakhandi’ and enriching our souls with piousness & patriotism was emphasized by him. He ended the speech by instilling a lot of energy and lifting the spirits of students. The assembly concluded at a vey promising note with the National Anthem

GEN BC JOSHI ARMY SCHOOL PITHORAGARH CELEBRATES ITS 27TH FOUNDERS' DAY

The school celebrated its 27th Annual Day with great zeal and fervour on 16th October 2022. Col Yusuf Saify, Dy Cdr - 119 (I) Inf Bde Gp, and Mr Havaldar Prasad - District Education Officer graced the occasion by being the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively. Beside this, a galaxy of distinguished guests and the Principals of various schools, along with the parents of students, attended the function. The program started with a melodious and heartwarming welcome song, followed by Saraswati Vandana. Mr Vinod K. Bhama - Principal, presented the school's Annual Report highlighting the achievements and progress of the school. The ebullient dancers of the school presented an impressive and colourful cultural programme on the occasion. The programme included the vibrant cultural dances of India, esp. the traditional dance of Gujarat, Punjab, Dogri, West Bengal and Uttarakhand. The programme rode to a final crescendo with Chhaliya Dance performance - the symbol of Kumaoni Culture, followed by the Taekwondo show. The aerobics performance by the tiny-tots was an amalgam of various forms of physical activeness. The spectacular speech by the Chief Guest enlightened the gathering. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the school management, principal, teachers and the students for rising the school to greater heights. The programme culminated with a Vote of Thanks by Mr Sanjeev Masih, Sr Teacher and the National Anthem. Students and their parents were given away the boxes of sweets and refreshments. 76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

School celebrated Independence Day Function today on 15 Aug 2022, under the banner 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' with pomp & show . The School Chairman Mr Saurabh Shinde graced the auspicious occasion by being the Chief Guest accompanied with Mrs Rupali Shinde. The Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag, followed by reviewing salute from the March-Past Contingents from 04 × Houses . The Skit presented by the students of Primary Wing on India's Freedom Fighters was mesmerizing and a goose-bumps giving event, which touched the hearts of spectators with their fabulous performances. The melody of Patriotic Songs presented by the four Houses echoed in the environment and filled everyone's soul with deep love for the nation . The Chief Guest awarded students with Trophies who had done well in the CBSE Board Exams 2021-22, and in various other fields to incl Sports, Literary and Co-curricular activities. Chairman in his address motivated the students to instill the Feelings of Patriotism with Honesty and Dedication, and deeply appreciated the performances of Children. The program was valedicted with Vote of Thanks by Principal, Mr Vinod Bhama, followed by Sweets Hamper distribution to all the students .

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV : MINI MARATHON

TODAY STUDENTS OF GEN BC JOSHI, ARMY PUBLIC SCHOOL PARTICIPATED IN MINI MARATHON CONDUCTED UNDER THE AEGIS OF THE FMN HQ & SECURED TOP THREE POSITIONS IN STUDENTS CATEGORY. A total of 150 students, 10 teachers and the School Bursar Capt(Retd) AS Mathur participated in the Mini Marathon. Master Pawan Paswan (1st Position), Rajendra Bisht(2nd Position) & Showket Bashir(3rd- Position )secured the first three positions. OP Sadhbhawna students were also felicitated for their good performance in today’s Marathon. The Event was flagged of by Brig Saurabh Shinde, Cdr 119(I), who later gave away the prizes and congratulated the winners.

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV : RALLY AND STREET PLAY

Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostsav Theme, School organised an Awareness Rally and Street Play to spread the Spirit of Patriotism. A total of 80 students participated who performed Street Play at Simalgir Bazar and Bin Chouraha. Both the events were very much liked by the audience.

The school adding more shine to its glittering beauty by getting the State-Level Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22 (issued by the Deptt of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt of India). The selection of schools for the award is done as a part of the ‘Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya’ campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The award was received by the Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama from Dr Dhan Singh Rawat - Education Minister, Uttarakhand, during a ceremony held at the Office of Director General of School Education, Dehradun, Uttarakhand on 1 Aug, 2022. It’s indeed a proud moment for the school having received the great honour.
