The most colourful and vibrant festival of India 'Holi' was celebrated, with splash of colours, by the staff at Gen BC Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh, on 06 March, 2023. The central Lobby and Soccer ground of the school was an amalgamation of enthused staff members, students and the Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama. The self-made herbal colours were sprinkled on each other and wished for goodness in the hearts & minds of all. Staff members and students enjoyed the fervor of the festival celebration alongwith enjoying high-tea with traditional sweets of the festival. A week before the Holi Celebration the tiny tots of Primary Wing were also engaged in Herbal Colour Making Activity where students learnt to make herbal colours. Mr Vinod K Bhama, Principal also encouraged these tiny tots to be responsible human beings.
Change is constant for an adult, but for a child of a lower age group it can be difficult and daunting. Hence, establishing regular and effective inter-class interactions are extremely important as it ensures seamless transition from one level of education to another. In order to execute the similar smooth transitions from small to BIG, the toddlers of PAPPS (Panchshul Army Pre-Primary School) were received as guest visitors to the Primary Wing at Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh - their new learning ground, on 01 March, 2023. The Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama himself received these charming guests. The young aspirants along with visiting Classrooms, also felt excited while seeing the Resource Room, Music Room, Computer Lab, Sports Room, Playgrounds etc. The tiny learners were really happy and all smiling on getting familiarised with the positive learning environment at their New & Bigger School and the school was enchanted with their giggles. As a token of love and care some presents were also distributed to these students.
Moments of Pride and Euphoria for Gen BC Joshi Army Public School, Pithoragarh as The Principal, Mr Vinod K Bhama, got honoured with the "Excellence in School Leadership Award" by Dr Ranber Singh, Joint Secretary/ Regional Officer, CBSE, Dehradun Region, on 04 Feb, 2023, thus adding another feather in the cap of Gen BC Joshi Army Public School. Mr Bhama received this award for his dedicated and meritorious services in the field of school education. The felicitation programme was organised by Devbhoomi Sahodaya School Complex Haldwani, on 04 Feb 2023, in Haldwani (Nainital). The principal owes this achievement to the School Management, Staff, Parents and Students, and extends his gratitude to all concerned for the accolades in his career as an eminent educator.
The Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama conducted an in-house workshop on 'Achieving High Results' for the educators. In this erudite and brainstorming session, Mr Vinod K Bhama explained the importance of 1. Understanding the learners: their needs, expectations and problems. 2. Creating a conducive and inclusive environment in the classrooms. 3. Having a healthy bond between teachers and students. Dos and Don'ts before and during the Examination were also discussed. Every member in the house enthusiastically participated in the session and many learner-oriented issues were also deliberated upon.
Gen BC Joshi Army Public School Pithoragarh paid homage to the its Founder Late Gen BC Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, the then COAS, on 19 Nov 2022. A wreath-laying ceremony was organized at the bust of Gen BC Joshi in central lobby of the school. In remembrance of the great soul, the Principal, staff and students paid homage by offering wreath and flower petals. Late Gen Bipin Chandra Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, COAS, (05 Dec. 1935-19 Nov, 1994) was the 17th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Indian Army. Gen BC Joshi was born in village Danya, Distt.- Almora (Uttarakhand).
Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh celebrated Children’s Day on 14th Nov 2022, with great fun and frolic. The pgme commenced with welcoming the Chief Guest, Mr. Vinod K Bhama - Principal, where he presented a bouquet to the tiny-tots as a mark of love & affection for children. A Special Assembly was conducted by the teachers, followed by various performances, including skit on importance of school life, and medley & lazy dance to delight, entertain and regale the students. At last the Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama, appreciated the teachers for their performances for students. The celebrations came to an end with the distribution of cupcakes as a small token of love and affection by the school mgmt.
23rd Uttrakhand Foundation Day was celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. To mark the event a special assembly was conducted by the students of class 7C and 5C. The assembly commenced with the morning prayer to rejuvenate the spirits of the students. To throw more light on the history of Uttrakhand a speech was delivered by Rishita Rawat of 7C followed by a quiz on Uttrakhand. A beautiful skit was also performed by the students of 5C showing the struggle for a separate state from Uttar Pradesh, leaders of this struggle and colours of Uttrakhand. A very serene depiction of village life of Uttrakhand was shown which not only displayed the roots but also showed why we call it ‘devbhoomi’. The tiny-tots, in their Kumauni Costume, also presented a Kumauni Song. The Principal- Mr Vinod K Bhama addressed the students by first congratulating them for the occasion. He later spoke about various famous personalities who belong to Uttrakhand and have served the nation with all their might. Having pride at being an ‘Uttrakhandi’ and enriching our souls with piousness & patriotism was emphasized by him. He ended the speech by instilling a lot of energy and lifting the spirits of students. The assembly concluded at a vey promising note with the National Anthem
The school celebrated its 27th Annual Day with great zeal and fervour on 16th October 2022. Col Yusuf Saify, Dy Cdr - 119 (I) Inf Bde Gp, and Mr Havaldar Prasad - District Education Officer graced the occasion by being the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively. Beside this, a galaxy of distinguished guests and the Principals of various schools, along with the parents of students, attended the function. The program started with a melodious and heartwarming welcome song, followed by Saraswati Vandana. Mr Vinod K. Bhama - Principal, presented the school's Annual Report highlighting the achievements and progress of the school. The ebullient dancers of the school presented an impressive and colourful cultural programme on the occasion. The programme included the vibrant cultural dances of India, esp. the traditional dance of Gujarat, Punjab, Dogri, West Bengal and Uttarakhand. The programme rode to a final crescendo with Chhaliya Dance performance - the symbol of Kumaoni Culture, followed by the Taekwondo show. The aerobics performance by the tiny-tots was an amalgam of various forms of physical activeness. The spectacular speech by the Chief Guest enlightened the gathering. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the school management, principal, teachers and the students for rising the school to greater heights. The programme culminated with a Vote of Thanks by Mr Sanjeev Masih, Sr Teacher and the National Anthem. Students and their parents were given away the boxes of sweets and refreshments. The inevitable contribution of Teachers was honoured on the beautiful occasion of the Teacher’s Day with Students expressing their gratitude for the Love, Care, Knowledge and Wisdom imparted by their Teachers towards them The Students organised Heartwarming Activities which included performing Plays and Songs. Students of Class XII acted as Teacher's for the day. Senior students of CL XII presented a self-made beautiful GREETING CARD to each teacher of the School in the morning assembly, which was deeply appreciated by each Teacher Tribute was paid by one and all to the Great Scholar, Teacher, Philosopher and the Second President of our Nation, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, on whose Birthday the Teacher’s Day is celebrated across all the Schools in India
